On March 16, Laura ran her 3rd Annual 5K on St. Paddy's Day. It is becoming quite the tradition! It was very convienent this year! The Relief Society was in charge of the ward 5k activity and Laura was asked to do the route. This fit perfectly with Laura's goal to do a 5K on St. Patrick's day! The boys rode their bikes, Aparri and Detric rode in the stroller! Laura raced Kaitlyn Waite to the finish line! Poor Clay had to miss out on all the fun and had to work..sad. Since Clay wasn't able to help Laura set up, Karen Ward (no blood relation, just wonderful sister in the ward) agreed to help Laura set up the route markers early that morning and take down afterwards. Karen ended up staying and spending the whole afternoon with us and we had a marvelous time - going to garage sales, chatting, making cookies, laughing, and watching movies. Thanks for your help and company - it was a fun day! On Sunday, the actual St. Paddy's day - We had green water, green pancakes and green eggs (the boys made these themselves) for breakfast. (We had big plans for a nice green dinner, but plans faded when Laura came down with the stomach flu ) So, we were glad we had a good breakfast...Happy St. Paddy's Day!
