Christmas Bowling

On Saturday night, we were looking for something fun to do as a family, Clay and Laura came up with the idea for bowling...it had been awhile - so we thought it would be a fun outing!  The kids were so excited to go bowling, you would have thought we said Disneyland!  Well, time soon showed that it had been too long since we had bowled (as the score board will testify!).  Clay was a little rusty at first, but was soon playing with consistent pin drops, several spares, many stikes, and a very good score, the kids also got the hang of it- had fun and scored well, as for Laura....well, she seemed to be a little rusty, then warmed up with a spare and even a strike, but then all downhill from there!  Gutterball, after Gutterball, after Gutterball.  not such a great night for Laura....I think ALL the kids beat her score...even Aparri!  Yeah, that bad.. But, score or no score....Mrs. Claus, MR. Stupendous, Loyd, Francis Nutterbutter, Princess Pea, and Bubba - had fun at the bowling alley for some Pre-Christmas fun!  All the kids talk about is when our next bowling trip will be!  The boys even asked, "Is bowling a sport?"  "Why?"  "I would like to do bowling for my sport...."  There ya go.  I think it was a successful night!

Fix-it Detric

Clay was fixing a drawer front, when Detric came over and was instantly attached to the screw driver!  As soon as Clay surrendered it over...Detric would NOT let it go!  Clay initially helped him by showing where the screw driver goes, but after that, Detric held it up to the screw by himself and proceeded to try and fix the drawer too!  He even has the Smith family concentration tongue sticking out...so you know he means business!

Zoo Lights

A group of us went to the Clovis Zoo and saw their "Zoo Lights"  They had lights around a few of the animal cages, up the walk ways, free hot cocoa, karaoke (which Preston tried to convince Laura to do...), and fun picture face cut-outs.  We had a great time spending the evening having fun with friends!  Thanks Sara Cross for the invite, we had fun!

First Pack Meeting

It is a sad thing to say, but this December was the first pack meeting we have been able to make it to since CJ got into cub scouts back in March!  We were either out of town, or they stopped holding them for the summer, we moved, etc.  So, better late than never!  Just because we haven't made it to pack meeting, doesn't mean we haven't been working!  CJ earned his bead holder and 2 beads.  He has earned several arrows, but apparently you can't be awarded those until you get your wolf....Mom is learning all this...it is new to her!!!  Good job CJ, we are proud of you!  Let's earn that wolf and then we can get those arrows too!!!

Christmas Dance Showdown

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...Aparri was singing this song all December long!  Her Christmas Dance Showdown performance was entitled, Let it snow!! Aparri did a great job dancing, shaking her cute hips, and throwing the snow!  Aparri loves her new dance teacher, BJ, and even has a friend, Scarlett,  from church in her class!  The boys even enjoyed going and cheering on sister as she performed for them!  We all gave her a Hershey's chocolate bar (her favorite) afterward for doing such a great job!
