When the husbands are away...the wives can play!!! While we were visiting Vegas, Matt (Mandy's husband) went on a hiking trip with some buddies...so the women ceased the opportunity for girl time! Mandy so graciously invited Laura, Nancy and the kids over for an extremely yummy dinner of chicken tacos (seriously..so good and she claims they are super easy....Laura will have to get the recipe. Laura knows she got it verbally while she was there, but over the course of 7 weeks she has forgotten! ) The kids had a blast hanging out with their good friends, Laura had a good time hanging out with hers and Nana was along for the ride! Detric was in love with Nellie, the dog! Nellie was a good sport for a while, but finally found refuge with Nana...she wouldn't get off! I guess she knows a safe lap when she finds one!
Laura and Mandy were also able to squeeze in a run together! They are both runners, however, they had never ran together! Walk YES, run.. No. When Mandy was training for her marathon - Laura was pregnant with Detric. When Laura was back to running, Mandy was then pregnant with Jack. Laura moved 1 week after Mandy gave birth to Jack (so heaven knows she wasn't running then!).... so the girls had a great time waking up early one morning and going for their first run together! They ran over 5 miles~ good job ladies! It's amazing what a great cloud cover in Vegas and a good running buddy can do! Plus they haven't seen each other in months, so they had LOTS to talk about!!
