Since we did the wake up early (4:30am) balloon fiesta festivities last time, we decided to try the evening glowdeo this time. We enjoyed the pre- balloon activities... meeting astronauts, getting the whole family in a hot air balloon basket, Laura met some clones, and CJ "borrowing" a $500 camera from Canon to take pictures with for the night - plus he got to keep the memory card and his pictures....pretty sweet deal! As soon as the sun went down, the breeze picked up and a few balloons attempted to blow up but they started to fall so they were quickly deflated. It was disappointing that the weather wasn't ideal and not that many balloons were able to be filled up and none were able to take off. In addition to the lack of balloons, it was also DARK and there were masses of people everywhere....so when you can't see, can't move, can't hear, can't speak.... it makes it hard to keep track of children. So we hung onto each other for dear life and didn't let go! When all was said and done... we all agreed that the early morning wake up is better than the evening glowdeo....so up and at 'em...4:30am it is!!
