Albuquerque Botanical Gardens

One of our favorite stops in the botanical gardens was the train stop, of course!  They had several Thomas trains and friends that went around an elaborate track.  The kids (big and small)...ok...ALL OF US were mesmerized.  Several of our family members could have camped out there all day and watched the trains and been perfectly happy.  But, the butterfly house was a strong enough attraction to pull us away from the trains and quickly became a favorite too!  It was so fun getting up close and seeing these beautiful creatures.  We walked through a "Bug" park where everything was supersized and made us feel small as bugs - so cool to be inside a HUGE pumpkin!  And last but not lease the BUG House.  There was an ant trail that spread across the whole building - these ants were carrying food and supplies across a rope to the other side of the museum...don't dilly dally under the trail...one just might fall and then you'd have ants in your pants! haha.  There was one exhibit that we stood in front of forever...and finally Laura was able to see the 2 bugs that everyone was talking about.  Wow..talk about not being able to see something that is literally right before your eyes!  Can you see it?  (on the next page) When she finally saw it, Laura had to try and take a picture of it!

Can you see the 2 critters in this top picture?  One is brown and one is green...good luck!
