Preston's love and compassion for animals is beautifully portrayed in this picture. The animals are in pain and discomfort as they get branded. Usually they let out a cry and howl as the branding is being done. Preston could not stand to watch or hear the pain of these animals, so he is both closing his eyes and plugging his ears to shield himself from the sight. I love this boy and his love and heart felt compassion.
