As promised, we took a ride on the Maxx train. We were originally supposed to ride it to the zoo, but that backfired on us- and the parking lot was full...so we decided that a ride on the Maxx would be a fun outing in and of itself...and we were right, the kids LOVED it. We rode it from the Portland airport into downtown Portland. We got off and walked around (where we tried to find Val Schmitt, Laura's old dental teacher, and we found Doug - her husband in their frozen yogurt store! But, our time was short and we had to leave before Val showed up... We then raced back to the train, and rode it back where we got a frozen yogurt. The kids loved going as fast as the cars, over the bridges, getting tickets, and then standing up while the train was going and doing their best to keep their balance! It was quite entertaining. We all agreed that we definitely need to do this again when Dad comes!
