Since Stan and Nancy are getting ready to go on a church mission in the spring, one of the BIG projects while Laura and the kids were at the Smith home was to help them dejunk, clean, organize, and stage their house to get it ready to be put on the market. Laura was in heaven! She loves each and every one of those things....dejunking, organizing, decorating, and shopping....okay, okay...those two lists aren't exactly the same - but close! Now, don't get me wrong, it definitely was hard work, but the results were amazing. Mom and Dad's house was transformed when Laura and the kids left. Nancy even made the comment to Laura that she had studied the wrong thing in college! Finance??? No, she should have gone into interior design! Nancy and Stan's neighbors have already asked if she hires out! Now, that sure made Laura feel good!
The house has never looked so good. It sure was a great way to go and say goodbye to a great house, beautiful neighborhood (The Cedars), and amazing neighbors (The Seaveys). Lots of memories have been made here....
The Seaveys....trusty friends and neighbors who we love. They have an incredible backyard, where we have taken many of our family pictures!
The "Loop" House
The kids' contribution was the yard sale. And boy were they excited!! Laura has never had a yard sale (been to them - of course, but never held one herself), and Nana wasn't going to have one either, but the kids begged and begged and so Nana let them hold one! CJ was the overseer and in charge of all the money! We made it a short and sweet sale - one morning, 4 hours...done. The beginning was a little slow and we just prayed for just one customer so that the kids could sell something....eventually we got one, then two, then a steady stream of buyers! We sold several things which made everyone ecstatic and Papa pleasantly surprised!
