A bunch of people raved about the pools at the Rio Hotel...and since it is free.. we thought, HEY, why not try it. So, off we went for a fun afternoon at the beaches of Rio (we say beaches because there is a sand beach that goes straight into the heated pool to give the beach affect. Yes, it was a fun little get-a-way, with a little excitement with a HUGE swarm of bees.. this wasn't you're typical Bee here, Bee there sort of situation; this was GINORMOUS swarms- Bees EVERYWHERE, you looked up above the pool and they were just hovering there. It was a little disconcerting...and a little too much resemblance to the movie "Birds".. but this would have been attack of the Bumblebee!!! They only ended up evacuating 2 of the 3 pools, so we got all the swimming in that we desired. However, when all was said and done - we all agreed that we are just as happy at our non-heated, non-sanded, non Bee swarmin', 2 minute away community pool!
