Cow Picking...not to be confused with Cow Tipping! When a grandchild turns 8 years old, Grandpa Ward gives them a cow. Since, CJ just turned 8 in March, Papa took him out to the cows and together they picked a good sturdy looking cow! This cow, if used correctly can help fund their mission! How?? The cow will eventually have babies, which are also the grandchild's and can either be sold or kept. If sold, they keep the money and put it away for their mission. If they are kept, then they will need to be housed and fed by Grandpa; at that point the child is then responsible for paying for room and board and feeding of their cows. However, the cow will be more valuable as it gets bigger and thus able to be sold for more money. The child will also have the opportunity to come to the farm during the summers to help care and brand the cows. When your cow gets older, the child may choose to sell their original cow and swap it with a younger one. This is all up to the child. However, in the unfortunate event that your cow dies, before it has a baby to take it's place,...game over, that is it. This is a one time deal...so pick that initial cow wisely! Papa counseled CJ, told him what to look for and how to make an intelligent choice! CJ chose....Cow #31 - which CJ later named, Luke Skywalker!
Hey Everyone, we're doing well & keeping busy with flying, family, and school, but mainly just trying to keep up with CJ, Preston, Aparri, Detric & Erica. We hope that you're doing well and that you'll drop us a line and let us know how you're doing. [Clay, Laura, CJ, Preston, Aparri, Detric & Erica]
