This boy has been dying to become a scout....sometimes when we are at the church on Wednesday nights, he begs
to go participate! Laura has found him
sneaking into the room and joining in the activities. Well, no more sneaking Preston, it is now
finally official.....you are a cub scout!!!
Hey Everyone, we're doing well & keeping busy with flying, family, and school, but mainly just trying to keep up with CJ, Preston, Aparri, Detric & Erica. We hope that you're doing well and that you'll drop us a line and let us know how you're doing. [Clay, Laura, CJ, Preston, Aparri, Detric & Erica]

Enjoying Aunt Becky
We are so glad that Aunt Becky came
to visit!! Shopping, Once upon a Time,
marshmallo Popcorn & Gharadelli brownies were essential items during her
stay! Becky loves us....she proved it on
this trip Laura had her pack yoshidas and yeast all the way from Washington!! Clay couldn't believe it when he found out,
YOU HAD HER BRING WHAT? What a girl will do for her sister! That's love people!
The RIGHT BayMax Cake
Preston's cake request was BayMax from
Big Hero 6. Preston had a vision of
exactly what he wanted the cake to be!
Becky and Laura thought they knew what that vision was....but when Becky
and Laura were 1/2 into the making of the cake, Preston came in to check on the
progress and he disapproved! So, he
decided to STAY in the kitchen and help with the completion of the cake to make it RIGHT!
The finished prodect, was the cake that Preston wanted! (The cake is cakeball batter inside with
almond marshmello fondant for Baymax on the top.) I'm glad we finally got it right in the end!
As is tradition in the Ward House, Preston received his first 22 on his 8th Birthday! Wow...what a gun.
Afternoon Recreation
After the baptism, we spent
the afternoon scarying the pants of Aunt Becky!!! Nah, ok...maybe just a little, but we really just wanted to share the love! We took a ride on the wild side as we all
took a motorcycle/4 wheeler to the field.
We had fun buzzing around, going up hills, eating dust, and having a
marvelous time. At first Becky's
reaction to an afternoon of motorcycles was, "I don't think so...you guys
better just go without me. I haven't
riden motorcycles very much." But,
we wouldn't take NO for an answer! We
put her in first gear and the boys led the way!
After a few minutes, Becky was past first gear and into 2nd and before
you knew it she was catching air and tackling those hills like a pro!! The boys easily caught air and loved it! Aparri was a little apprehensive about trying
to get up the hill alone, but she did it!
After we had all got our fill and eaten enough dirt for the day, we
headed home for some BBQ and cake!
Preston's Baptism
Preston was able to get
baptized and receive the Holy Ghost on his birthday! What a great way to spend the day and make it
even more memorable. We are so proud of Preston and the good choices that he is
making. He is trying sooo hard to be a good boy choose the right. We are so
glad that Preston is a part of our family!
Aunt Becky Hord came all the way from
Washington to be there for Preston's special day.
Aunt Julie Gragg
made Preston a special towel to use for his baptism!

The BIG 8
April 11, 2015 has arrived!! We have been planning and preparing for this day for months. Preston's 8th birthday and Baptism day! The day started out with breakfast in bed on the special plate!! Rollo's, bacon, kiwi with coolwhip, and chocolate moo milk was the requested menu! Happy Birthday Preston. You bring such a joy and spark to our lives. We are so excited for you on your special day! We love you.
Unfortunately, some last minute emergencies made it impossible for Papa, Grandma, and Kage to make it on their trip to New Mexico and be here for the weekend. Papa got an abcess in his back and had emergency surgery the day before they were supposed to fly out - and the doctor said NO traveling. Bummer. Preston was disappointed that his grandparents and partner in crime, Kage, wasn't able to be here for his big day, but he was a trooper and understood.
Baptism Photo Shoot
As is tradition in our family....before a child gets baptized, they get a photo date with Mom at the temple! We go and enjoy the temple grounds and take LOTS of pictures!! So, on a Saturday in March - Preston and Laura went to the Lubbock, TX temple and had a great time! The weather was gorgeous, Preston smiled great, and we got some good shots!! (and some silly shots too!!!) We sure have a handsome & fun baptism boy!
