We are...the SUPER Wards! This year's PJs were SUPER!!! Laura was in charge of the PJ selection this year..and she did great going along with the alien theme for the year...what better alien that Superman! (Sad thing is...Laura didn't make the connection until we all sat down and watched the new Superman: Man of Steel movie on Christmas day. Part way through the movie, Laura yells, "HOLY COW!!! SUPERMAN IS AN ALIEN!!! I TOTALLY FORGOT! AM I GOOD OR WHAT??? I STUCK TO THE THEME WITH THE PJS AND DIDNT EVEN KNOW IT... MUST HAVE BEEN INSPIRATION!!!) Everyone loves there new PJs. The three older kiddos immediately put on caps and were flying around the house!! (I'm sure Detric would have joined them if he could "fly".... soon my little man, very soon. He watches those older siblings very closely...we can tell those wheels are spinning all the time.
After we all changed into our Christmas jammies...we all piled into the car and took a spin around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights, listening to Christmas music, and just enjoying and taking in the mood that it created. We let Detric sit forward facing for this venture...oh what a mistake, I don't think he will ever be content sitting backward EVER again! He enjoyed every minute he sat in the back seat with his 2 big brothers! Oh...the smile on his face never stopped!!! It was fun to see such pure delight.
As soon as we got home, Aparri got all the kiddos into bed rather quickly. She was very concerned that we were out too late and might have missed Santa!!! So, Preston headed up the cookie patrol and got the treat for Santa ready and placed by the fireplace in a very timely manner. Then the kids got quickly nestled into their beds for a long winters nap. (While Mom and Dad stayed up a little longer watching Downton Abbey!!! Yep, we got sucked into the Downton trap and are hooked!)
