We love to go shootin'. Preston even has special "gear" that he has to wear for the occasion. When he found out it was time to go shooting, he ran into his room and got himself appropriately accessorized before we could leave the house. When he was all suited up, he announced, "Ok...now we can go!" CJ even got into the spirit of it with the eye protection, PINK eye protection mind you! (Don't tell Clay, he would die!!!) In order to go shooting, you need something to shoot at, so we took a few minutes to make customized targets. Everyone had a different flavor of creativity. Again, Preston took the award on this one for the most detailed, creative and time consuming target. It was a BIG BAD BOY clown. Good job, Preston! While out in the open fields, basking in the sunshine, shooting our rifles.... (BB Guns!!), we all took a turn staking our claim on the targets - Even Aparri and little Detric had a great shooting lesson from Papa! Laura and Amy had a pink daisy shoot out. To complete the outdoor shooting experience, Preston again takes the award for his surprising discovery. He finds a leg. A leg to some unfortunate animal that is now dead or suffering from an amputation that looks painful! It even had fur still on it (pointed out to everyone from Preston). Laura screamed, Preston smiled, and even after numerous pleas from Laura to "Put that filthy thing down", Preston was too fascinated and determined to discover what animal it came off of to listen. Dirt??? Germs?? Disease?? Who cares. None of these scare Preston in the slightest. We have to find the right occupation for this little man....he definitely has some strengths that have to be put to good use. Heaven help Laura on the way....she just might not make it!
