Don't let Aparri's bare legs fool you....it was freezing out side. Despite the cool weather, we decided to go to a couple parks during Christmas break. It was sunshining...so that helped a little bit, but the weather was chilly enough for pants...which we told her to get on and she refused....so I guess you have to pick your battles right - and Aparri learned the hard way that it is cold outside even though the sun is shining. Yes, Her little legs froze....but she hasn't fussed or complained when we ask her to put on pants since! The parks were beautiful and fun. We ran, explored, played on the play ground, and lost our aerobie in the pond. Yep...the boys threw it just right, the wind caught it and carried it right to the middle of the duck pond, and nope...Mom and Dad weren't going swimming after it...sorry kids.
At one of the parks, Preston dressed appropriately and wore puddle boots. There was mud and water in a ravine that we walked through...however, after multiple reminders NOT to go stomping in the mud...now this is Preston....he just couldn't resist. And he got stuck in the mud. He pulled his boot off, got his pants and socks soaked, and now stunk like duck pond funk. So, since he didn't listen - he had to stay by mom and dad for the rest of the adventure...hence the sad face.
