We have never decorated a gingerbread house before, but when we heard that a lady in our ward makes homemade gingerbread houses and sells them for you to decorate - we thought we better try it out this year! Oh boy! I think we may have started a new tradition! We had so much fun - we had Shane, CJ, and Aparri on one house. Clay, Laura, Nana, Papa, and Preston on the other house. They both turned out very different, but very fun! They are both amazing. With the snow drippings, to the sleigh on the roof, to the reindeer, to the gingerbread men- they are so beautiful I don't want to eat them. But, the smell and crave of candy overcame ALL of us through the coming days- and before the week was over the houses were bare again - with all the sweet treats consumed! No wonder the kids were a little more hyper than normal! Mystery solved.
PHOTO BOMBER!!!
Detric was asleep when we decorated the houses- we felt it just might be better that way! (less candy that Detric consumes - and all the adults could participate decorating) When Detric woke up and saw Houses of CANDY...you could just see the wonder and amazement in his eyes...CANDY, CANDY, CANDY! (To help you understand this kid a little bit...."Candy" is one of the first words that Detric learned....Mom, Dad, & Candy! He knows a good thing when he hears it!)
