Livin' in Luxury

Our friends, The Thorups, told us about this resort in San Antonio - so we decided to check it out and low and behold they have a wicked discount!  So we said- why not stay the night?  So on our way home, we stayed 1 night at JW Marriott Resort and it felt like we were royalty - now we debated on whether they catered to us so well because that is just what they do - or were we supposed to tip them all the time?  We are obviously very naive and out of practice with this sort of thing as we are neither wealthy nor famous - so this was our first time staying in a resort....and it was us with 5 kiddos - so let me tell you it was VERY LUXURIOUS- Haha!  We stayed at the resort the same night as the Thorups so we met up with them at the pool and swam, went down crazy water slides (one was a tube slide that you climb in, stay standing up, they close this clear door around you so you are now enclosed in a clear tube - felt a lot like star trek...beam me up Scotty....except we were being beamed...I mean BLASTED down...the floor literally collapses under you and you go down fast, smooth but fast and watch out for the water wedgie at the bottom!  It was not like any other waterslide we have ever been on!) we ate smores by the pool, sat in the hot tub, and watched Finding Nemo while swimming until the colorful lights at the pool turned off and it was time for bed!  Thanks Thorups for letting us crash your Marriott Party!
