Boys Skiing Trip to Toas

Taos, NM ski resort had a military appreciation Day at their slopes!  The deals were amazing and just toooo good to pass up!  $25 lift tickets and free rentals, or $37 all day ski school which included rentals, lift tickets, lunch, and snacks (that is usually $160)!   When they rung Clay up it was a total of $99 instead of $450!!!  It would have been fun if the whole family could go, but Laura being 35 weeks pregnant wasn't really up to hitting the slopes this year, so she stayed home with the 2 younger kids while Clay, CJ, and Preston headed for the snow capped hills.  It was the perfect day to ski - clear skies, nice snow, a beautiful clean resort, and the boys loved ski school and were sad to see the day end.  They are all a little sore today from their adventures, but had HUGE smiles on their faces! Clay enjoyed a day of skiing - I think he would have been a little happier if he had a companion (hopefully next year Laura can be there with him!) Preston's teacher called him a "Hot Dogger" who liked to go fast and take risks on the little bumps and hills!  CJ steadily improved through out the day and was confident in his new skills!  Both CJ and Preston were zooming the slopes next to Clay by the end! Thanks Taos ski Resort you made this wonderful day possible!

Celebrating the big 6

For her 6th birthday, she had breakfast in bed, Lunch at McDonalds (which we kidnapped her from school for!!), dinner at pizza hut, presents galore, Grandma and Papa Party, and cake!  What a day big girl!!  Aparri got new clothes, roller blades that are glued to Aparri's feet! (Thank you Papa and Grandma), barbie heaven (a huge bag full of more barbie stuff than any little girl could want - thank you garage sale find!!), some lala loopsie dolls (thank you Carlee and Dani - who stopped by to give Aparri a birthday wish and gift), and some my little ponies from Preston (who wanted to buy her a gift with his own money!).  What a fun day celebrating Aparri!  Can't wait to see what this 6 year old has in store for us this year!

Sisters Cake

No one is more excited about the concept of having a sister than Aparri!  After 3 brothers, a sister sounds amazing!!!  And it shows in her choice of birthday cake!  At first it was just an Anna cake and then in changed to an Elsa and Anna cake together - Sisters!!!   Aparri is going to be such a good big sister.  She can hardly stand the wait!  But, for today she got to enjoy her Sisters Birthday cake!  Happy Birthday Aparri!!!

Breakfast in Bed for the Birthday Girl

Aparri is now 6!! Oh how we love this little girl, who is not so little any more!  Her breakfast of choice was rollos, bacon, strawberries, and chocolate milk!  Yum!!! She enjoyed being served as she woke up - hello bed hair!!! But, she is still cute - even with that crazy hair!!

Flying the Clear Blue B Skies

He did it!!! On Preston's recent report card he got all B's!!! He worked really hard and did it!  Good job Preston!  The day he handed us his report card and we saw what the grades were he says, "Now I get to go fly!!!"  Yes, Preston, Yes, you sure do!  So, Lucky Preston got to go flying with not only Dad, but Papa and Grandma too!  Poor Detric had a hard time watching the plane get boarded and taking off without him... he cried, and cried and cried.  That kid loves to fly, but today was all about Preston!  It was fun for Clay to share his love and passion for flying with his kids, but also his parents! It was a fun adventure as they sailed the clear blue New Mexico skies!!!

Roller Skating with the Grandparents

It seems the last few times Grandma and Papa have come to visit, we have reintroduced them to a long lost "sport" that they haven't done in YEARS....last time it was bowling - this time it was roller skating!  The kids were super excited and Grandma and Papa were good sports!  They strapped those skates on and headed around the rink (neither of them fell once - that is awesome!!)  Amy did a great job, but after a few laps, wasn't feeling too steady on the wheels and decided to stop while she was ahead and kept Laura company on the sidelines! Laura was the designated camera girl - the roller skating rink owner kept trying to convince her to put on some skates and get out there...but Laura's having a hard enough time keeing her legs under her without wheels...roller skating would be disasterous!  The highlight of the afternoon was watching Clay and Stan do the chicken dance out on the roller skating floor and having a marvelous time!!!  Good times at the roller rink!!!
