Three Problems PATIO Solution

 

We have several problems....first, Laura and the kids LOVE the little play house - Clay... not so much (it kills the grass underneath it and we have to move it every time we mow the grass - so it is more of a thorn in his side and constantly threats to get rid of it), Second, we ALL like to have a fire in the fire pit- making smores, roasting hotdogs, etc. but every time we do, it kills the grass where ever the pit was lit.  Third, we love to BBQ, but we don't have a patio for the BBQ ....so....we decided that we had too many problems that had one common solution....we need a patio in the backyard so we can keep the playhouse, have a fire pit, and BBQ without killing the grass every time!  After much consideration and weighing several options.... Tada....the Ward Family Patio.  This was a TON of work.  Laura and Clay worked side by side for Days.  HOURS on end each day putting this thing in. The grass was hard to clear away, but we finally figured out that a sod cutter was worth it's weight in gold, then we had to clear the sod away, level the ground, lay the tiles (and those suckers are heavy!), and then get them straight - we rearranged those tiles I don't know how many times!  whew... when we were done, we were covered in sweat, dirt, and stink  but it was worth it - we love it and everyone is happy!
