A few weeks ago, CJ signed up to participate in the spelling bee. We were so proud of him. He took several days to check the spellings and look at the words. We were pleased that he wanted to participate, as participation was optional. He did a great job, spoke loud and clear. However, he misspelled a word rather quickly, (added an extra "e" on the end) so tears came and he was very disappointed. We are very proud of him for being excited and just wanting to try.
**In his defense....Clay and I both agree that the lady who was pronouncing the words didn't speak very clearly. On several different occasions, we thought she said a particular word, and when the child started spelling we were very confused because they were spelling a different word, and then she would say correct. The accents are slight here, but enough to make a spelling bee rather difficult... I don't think we are on the west coast anymore Toto... Good job CJ we will try again next year!
